Elfa

This year the Elf on the Shelf is mainly about Emma, but little E is getting into it too! She knows her elf's name and gets excited when she sees her. She had a little conversation with Elfa this evening!

First Haircut

Ellie came with Mommy and Grammy to get their hair done last Friday (12/4). She was very well behaved through the long 3 hours. Then she got to climb into the chair and get her very own first haircut! She did great. She liked looking at herself in the mirror. Now she doesn't have bangs in her face all day since she likes to undo the ponytails or even just clips Mommy puts in :).

18 month checkup

Ellie had her 18 month checkup today. She is doing great. Growing a lot, her height is even in the 90th percentile for her age! She got fairly upset getting her shot, but it was made all better by a "pop" and "coo coos" (stickers).

Fall Walk

This nice fall morning Ellie and I went on a leaf collecting walk. She was very cute and said "thank you" after she put each one in her basket.

Halloween House

After the pumpkin patch Friday we went to the Halloween House, the kiddos had a lots of fun dancing and watching the super cool house! (video with post )

Pumpkin Patch

We had some cousin fun at the pumpkin patch on Friday. Ellie went on her very first pony ride. She liked the pony and kept trying to pet him. She really really wanted to go on all the big kid rides, but we found a smaller jumper and she loved it.  She had lots of fun running around the pumpkin patch like a big kid :). Happy 1/2 Birthday

Dentist

Ella had her 1st dentist appointment today!  She did well!  She did have some tears, but overall did great.  She thought the tvs on the ceiling were so cool.  Maybe her favorite thing was the treasure box she got to pick a toy from when she was done!  At first she tried to take 3 whoopie cushions home, but traded those in for a little rubber duck.   (pictures with post )

Jumping Girl

SkyZone

We went to SkyZone Trampoline Park on Tuesday and Ella had a great time!  They had a special toddler area for little ones like her, but she also spent a lot of time out in the big area because she wanted to be with sister.  She even wanted to jump in the foam pit!  She is such a big girl! 4th of July

Ella had a great 2nd 4th of July!  She had fun swimming at Grammy and Papa's, then back home to enjoy some dinner and fun with cousins before the firework show.  She thoroughly enjoyed her first Popsicle and she stayed up late to watch the fireworks, even did some dancing afterwards!  (pictures with post )

First Steps

Little E has taken her first couple steps! She has been able to stand up in the middle of the room not holding onto anything for a few weeks now. She likes to stand up, then clap for herself :). Friday she took her first step towards Momma. She really took a step and fell into Momma, but she is working on it. Now she can take 2 steps before she falls into who ever she is going towards :). She will we walking around before we know it.

Little Sister

Little sister wants to be just like big sister!  When big sis grabbed a book to read at Gourmet Pizza, little one had to have one too.  She was also totally cheesing it up for the women at the table next to us.  She is such a little ham!

Teeth

Ella is now the proud owner of 6 teeth! She had her 2 top middle teeth pop through a couple days before her birthday and two more bottom teeth broke through yesterday bringing her to 6 total. She has four on the bottom and two big ones on top.

Happy 1st Birthday Ella!

Ella had a great birthday! She got her first taste of a cupcake at her First Birthday Photo Shoot the week before her birthday and she thought that was super fun. The photographer tried to get a picture of the cupcake before she dug in, but Ella was too excited and lunged across the room to get a big handful! She got presents and another cupcake on her actual birthday on Thursday. She really likes her musical drum set we got her, she loves to dance so much. Then she got to celebrate her big day with family over the weekend (and eat a giant cupcake). What's not to love? Happy 1st Birthday sweetie! Thank you for the amazing year. (pictures with post )

Ella has been holding her hand up to her ear and saying "hi" like she is talking into a phone. Tonight she used her spoon!

Easter Bunny

We took Ella to see the Easter Bunny for her 1st Easter today!  She was a still waking up from a nap when we first got over to him, but perked up and smiled at him when she saw him.  Once she was on his lap she kept looking at her sister sitting next to her to make sure this was okay.  When Emma smiled she would smile too.  She was not as happy when we took her attention back to Mommy and the camera though so we didn't get to capture those true smiles.  Once sister left for Ella's individual picture she waved to Emma.  She sure loves her sister!  Overall it was a good first visit with the Easter Bunny.  (pictures with post )

11 month old!

Our little lady is going to be a year old in one month! This month she got her first 2 teeth. She shakes her head no when asked a question. She has added to her list of words and now says "hi" and "doggie" and it sounds like she has said "Emma" and "sissy". She is also saying something that sounds like "that". Her latest trick is that she has learned to pull herself up and she is now pulling up on everything!

Ella is starting to understand the word No.  She will stop what she is going for and shake her head back and forth when we tell her no.  It is pretty darn cute!  The only problem is that she knows it is cute and laughs and then goes back to what she was going for so we tell her no again!

10 months

Our little one has had an exciting month!  She started officially crawling on 2/11 and she is getting faster every day.  She had been content to scoot and roll around for months, but she saw her friend Courtenay crawling that day and decided that was the way to move. There is no stopping her now!  She has turned her sitting up from laying down into a nice fluid movement and now does it all the time.  She loves to stand while holding onto things.  She has even taken a few steps holding our hands.  She waves when she hears the words hi or bye and claps at the words yay or clap.  She is also saying MaMa and DaDa and they do seem to actually mean us.  She doesn't say MaMa much, but rather cries MaaaaaMaaaaaaaaaaa.  She is eating more and more and can actually take bites off of something.  She ate a whole waffle triangle for breakfast the other morning.  She is turning into such a big girl!

Peek a Boo

Ella has started playing peek a boo!  After her bath Thursday night she pulled her towel over her face and then smiled when she moved it.  We started saying "where's Ella" when she covered her face and then "there she is, peek a boo" when she moved it.  She did it several times in a row.  Then the next day she used a blanket.  So cute!

9 months

Our little sweetheart turned 9 months old today!  Since last month she has now taken her first couple crawling "steps", but has not quite taken off yet.  That is not to say she is not mobile because she gets to wherever she wants to go by scooting and rolling.  She loves to dance, jump and
is also starting to wave and clap as well.  She is a lot more vocal and is starting to say things like dadadada.  She has pretty much decided she is over the whole baby food thing.  She wants whatever we are eating.  Still no teeth, so she gets small mushy bites, but she tries a variety of foods.  She has tried yogurt, cottage cheese, cheese, bananas, carrots, peas, pears, tofu, chicken, eggs, beans, sweet potatoes, potatoes, and a number of other things.  She is also a big fan of smoothies, ice cream and veggie sticks.  She likes finger foods she can get in her mouth herself.   She is still not sleeping through the night and goes through phases with how many times a night she wakes up.  She laughs at anything her big sister daily and giggles from her parents tickles.  She is so fun right now, love her so much!

Picnic Time

Ella had her first picnic at the park today.  She liked being outside and looking around.  She also really enjoyed the Veggie Straw that she stole from Mommy's plate.  Her favorite part was playing on the squishy foam of the playground.  She sat there and watched the kids play and worked a little closer towards crawling.  She even took a ride down the slide.  Fun times.
